Stilton Week 2026 Terms & Conditions
1. Promoter
1.1 Stilton Week 2026 is promoted by Long Clawson Dairy Limited, registered society number IP05419R, trading as Clawson Farms, of Long Clawson Dairy, Hickling Lane, Long Clawson, Melton Mowbray, England, LE14 4PJ (“Clawson Farms” or the “Promoter”).
1.2 The promotion is administered in association with Artichoke Media Limited, company number 14769147, whose registered office is at Jubilee House, 92 Lincoln Road, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, PE1 2SN (“Artichoke Media”).
1.3 Questions about Stilton Week, campaign materials or participation should be sent to enquiries@clawsonfarms.co.uk.
2. Campaign period
2.1 Stilton Week will run from 10 October to 18 October 2026 inclusive (“the Campaign Period”).
2.2 Applications will open on 14th August and close on 22 September at 23:59hrs (“the Application Period”).
2.3 Applications received outside the Application Period may not be considered.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Applications are open to independent food retailers operating in the United Kingdom that:
a. operate physical retail premises that are open to the public;
b. submit an application through an owner, employee or representative who is at least 18 years old and authorised to act for the business;
c. currently stock Clawson Farms Stilton or are willing and able to become a stockist before the Campaign Period;
d. can participate throughout the Campaign Period; and
e. can receive and safely store the campaign materials and sampling cheese.
3.2 The promotion is not open to employees of the Promoter or Artichoke Media, their immediate families, or anyone professionally connected with the administration or judging of the promotion.
3.3 Only one application may be submitted for each retail premises unless the Promoter agrees otherwise in writing.
3.4 Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied in their application is complete and accurate.
4. Applications and selection
4.1 Applications must be submitted through the application form at stiltonweek.com.
4.2 Applying does not guarantee a place. Participation is limited to a maximum of 100 retailers.
4.3 Applications will be assessed against factors including:
a. eligibility and ability to participate throughout the Campaign Period;
b. suitability of the retail premises;
c. commitment to sampling and promoting Clawson Farms Stilton;
d. the information provided in the application; and
e. geographical coverage and campaign logistics.
4.4 The Promoter or Artichoke Media may contact applicants to verify information or request further details.
4.5 Successful applicants will be notified by email by 23 September 2026. Applicants who have not received confirmation by this date should assume that their application has not been successful.
4.6 Places are allocated to the approved retail business and premises and may not be transferred without the Promoter’s written agreement.
4.7 The Promoter’s decision regarding participation is final. No correspondence will be entered into except where necessary to administer the promotion.
5. Cost of participation
5.1 Stilton Week is free to take part in.
5.2 Participants are responsible for any costs they incur through participating, including staff time, utilities, additional stock, display materials not included in the campaign kit and internet or social-media costs.
5.3 No purchase is necessary to submit an application. Approved retailers may, however, need to order sufficient retail stock to support their Stilton Week activity.
6. Retailer kit and sampling cheese
6.1 Each approved retailer will receive a campaign kit containing promotional materials and one complimentary 450g starter supply of Clawson Farms Stilton for customer sampling.
6.2 The precise contents and appearance of the kit may vary from promotional images or descriptions where reasonably necessary.
6.3 The complimentary cheese is supplied solely for customer sampling during Stilton Week. It must not be resold, exchanged for cash or used for any other commercial purpose.
6.4 The sampling cheese will carry a label stating that it is not for resale. Participants must not remove, obscure or alter this label.
6.5 Participants are responsible for:
a. checking the condition of the cheese and packaging upon delivery;
b. following all storage, handling, allergen and use-by instructions supplied with it;
c. maintaining appropriate hygiene and temperature controls;
d. providing accurate allergen information to customers;
e. ensuring that sampling is conducted by suitably trained staff and in accordance with applicable food-safety requirements; and
f. not serving any product that appears damaged, contaminated or unsafe.
6.6 Stilton contains milk. Participants must clearly communicate the relevant allergen information when offering samples.
6.7 The Promoter must be informed promptly if the kit or sampling cheese arrives damaged or incomplete.
6.8 Kits and sampling supplies are subject to availability. The Promoter may substitute an item with a reasonably equivalent alternative where necessary.
6.9 Requests for additional sampling or promotional materials should be sent to enquiries@clawsonfarms.co.uk. Additional supplies are not guaranteed.
7. Participant commitments
7.1 Approved retailers agree to make reasonable efforts throughout the Campaign Period to:
a. display the supplied Stilton Week promotional materials prominently;
b. create an engaging in-shop Stilton Week display;
c. offer customers samples of Clawson Farms Stilton, subject to availability and food-safety requirements;
d. promote Stilton Week and Clawson Farms Stilton to customers;
e. share photographs and/or videos of their activity on Instagram using #StiltonWeek26 and tagging @clawsonfarms and @specialityfood_ ; and
f. comply with any reasonable campaign instructions supplied by the Promoter.
7.2 Participants must not publish material that is unlawful, offensive, misleading, defamatory or likely to damage the reputation of the Promoter, Artichoke Media, Stilton Week or any third party.
7.3 Participants must obtain permission from identifiable employees, customers or other individuals before photographing or filming them and sharing that material.
7.4 Children must not be photographed or filmed for campaign content without appropriate permission from a parent or legal guardian.
7.5 Participants remain responsible for the conduct of their own businesses, employees and contractors throughout the campaign.
8. Sampling van
8.1 Applicants may be offered the opportunity to host the Clawson Farms Stilton Sampling Van. Expressing interest does not guarantee a visit.
8.2 Visits will depend on location, route planning, vehicle access, availability and operational considerations.
8.3 Selected retailers must provide accurate access information and ensure that a suitable, safe and lawful parking or operating area is available.
8.4 Selected retailers must provide any access, parking or electrical facilities agreed with the Promoter before the visit.
8.5 The Promoter may change, postpone or cancel a sampling-van visit because of weather, mechanical failure, access restrictions, safety concerns or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
9. Retailer Award
9.1 Approved retailers who complete the required campaign activities may be considered for the Stilton Week Retailer Award.
9.2 To enter, retailers must share eligible photographs and/or videos on Instagram during 10-18 October 2026, use #StiltonWeek26, and tag the specified Clawson Farms and Speciality Food accounts.
9.3 The entrant’s Instagram account and relevant post must be publicly viewable during the judging period.
9.4 Entries will be judged on:
a. creativity and visual impact;
b. effective use of the supplied campaign materials;
c. customer engagement;
d. celebration of Stilton and its versatility; and
e. overall execution of the retailer’s Stilton Week activity.
9.5 Entries will be assessed by The Stilton Week team.
9.6 The winner will receive a farm-to-fork tour of the Clawson Farms Dairy to see how Stilton is made by a team of master cheesemakers
9.7 The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative will be offered. The Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.
9.8 The winner will be contacted by email by October 30 2026. If the winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 14 days, is found to be ineligible or cannot accept the prize, the Promoter may select another winner.
9.9 The Promoter may verify that an entrant has completed the required activities before awarding the prize.
9.10 Instagram is not associated with, sponsoring, endorsing or administering this promotion. Entrants release Instagram from responsibility in connection with it.
10. Photographs, videos and campaign content
10.1 Participants retain ownership of photographs and videos they create.
10.2 By submitting, posting or otherwise providing campaign content, participants grant the Promoter and Artichoke Media a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, edit, publish and share that content for the purposes of administering, reporting on and promoting Stilton Week, Clawson Farms and related editorial coverage.
10.3 This licence applies across print, websites, email, social media, public relations and campaign presentations for three years.
10.4 The Promoter and Artichoke Media are not required to use any submitted content and may crop or edit it, provided its meaning is not materially misrepresented.
10.5 Participants confirm that:
a. they created the content or have permission from its owner to submit it;
b. its use will not infringe anyone else’s rights;
c. all identifiable individuals have agreed to the intended use; and
d. the content complies with these terms.
10.6 Separate consent or release arrangements may be required where the official filming team records identifiable individuals for the main campaign film.
11. Official filming and publicity
11.1 Selected retailers may be invited to participate in official filming during Stilton Week.
11.2 Participation in official filming will be arranged separately and may require the retailer, employees and other identifiable contributors to sign an appropriate location or contributor release.
11.3 Being selected for Stilton Week does not guarantee inclusion in the film or any other editorial or promotional coverage.
12. Withdrawal and disqualification
12.1 Participants should notify the Promoter promptly if they can no longer take part.
12.2 The Promoter may withdraw a retailer’s place or disqualify an award entry if the retailer:
a. does not meet the eligibility requirements;
b. provides false, incomplete or misleading information;
c. misuses or resells the sampling cheese or promotional materials;
d. fails to comply with these terms;
e. acts unlawfully or in a way that may damage the campaign or its partners; or
f. attempts to manipulate the application, judging or award process.
12.3 Where practical, unused campaign materials should be returned or disposed of in accordance with the Promoter’s instructions.
13. Changes and cancellation
13.1 The Promoter may make reasonable changes to the campaign where necessary because of circumstances beyond its control.
13.2 The Promoter will not change an application deadline, campaign requirement or award condition in a way that unfairly disadvantages participants unless this is unavoidable.
13.3 Material changes will be communicated to affected participants as soon as reasonably possible.
14. Liability
14.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
14.2 Subject to clause 14.1, the Promoter and Artichoke Media are not responsible for:
a. applications, emails or social-media posts that are lost, delayed or not received because of technical problems outside their reasonable control;
b. loss arising from a participant’s failure to follow food storage, handling, allergen or safety instructions;
c. costs incurred by a retailer in participating; or
d. indirect or consequential losses arising from participation.
14.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring that their activity complies with applicable laws, licences, insurance requirements and workplace and food-safety obligations.
15. Personal information
15.1 Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Stilton Week Privacy Policy available at [privacy-policy URL].
15.2 Clawson Farms and Artichoke Media are separate data controllers. Information provided through the application may be used by both organisations for their respective purposes, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
15.3 Application information will be used to assess applications, contact applicants, deliver campaign materials and administer, evaluate and promote Stilton Week.
15.4 Marketing communications will only be sent where there is an appropriate lawful basis. Any optional marketing consent will be requested separately for Clawson Farms and Artichoke Media and may be withdrawn at any time.
16. General
16.1 If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
16.2 A failure or delay in enforcing these terms does not waive the right to enforce them later.
16.3 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights that apply.
